SNCFI Supports Brigada Eskwela 2026 Through Volunteer Efforts at Banga National High School and San Vicente National High School

Education begins long before the first lesson is taught. Before students return to their classrooms, schools must first be prepared, restored, and made ready to receive them. Recognizing this shared responsibility, Santo Nino College Foundation, Inc. (SNCFI) actively participated in Brigada Eskwela 2026 through the volunteer efforts of its Criminology and Information Systems students, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to community engagement, service, and educational support.

As part of the nationwide initiative, Criminology students of SNCFI joined the Brigada Eskwela activities at Banga National High School, where they worked alongside school personnel and community volunteers in preparing the campus for the opening of classes. Through clean-up drives, grounds maintenance, and classroom improvement activities, the student volunteers contributed to creating a safer, cleaner, and more conducive learning environment for learners.

Meanwhile, at San Vicente National High School, Criminology students and Information Systems students collaborated in various school improvement efforts aimed at enhancing the school's readiness for the incoming academic year. The activity provided students with an opportunity to extend their service beyond the classroom while working closely with educators, local stakeholders, and fellow volunteers in support of a common educational goal.

More than a volunteer activity, Brigada Eskwela serves as a platform for cultivating civic responsibility and social awareness among students. By participating in community-based initiatives, learners gain a deeper understanding of the role they play in nation-building and community development. The experience also reinforces important values such as teamwork, leadership, discipline, and service—qualities that complement their academic and professional preparation.

The initiative reflects SNCFI’s educational philosophy that learning extends beyond textbooks and classrooms. Through meaningful engagement with partner schools and local communities, students are encouraged to become active contributors to society while developing a stronger appreciation for public service and collective responsibility.

The activity likewise aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education by supporting safe, inclusive, and conducive learning environments; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities through active civic participation and community engagement; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening collaboration among educational institutions, local government units, and community stakeholders in advancing educational development.

Beyond the immediate improvements made to school facilities, the impact of Brigada Eskwela lies in the spirit of cooperation it fosters among institutions and communities. Through shared efforts and volunteerism, participants contribute to building educational environments where learners can thrive and succeed.

Through initiatives such as Brigada Eskwela 2026, Santo Nino College Foundation, Inc. continues to demonstrate its commitment to producing socially responsible graduates who understand that education is not only a pathway to personal success but also a means of serving others and contributing meaningfully to the wider community.
