The pursuit of quality education requires educators who continuously seek opportunities to refine their teaching practices, expand their professional knowledge, and respond to the evolving needs of learners. Demonstrating this commitment, Marianne S. Bucay, MPsy, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) faculty member and Gender and Development (GAD) Coordinator of Santo Nino College Foundation, Inc. (SNCFI), participated in the 52nd Reading Association of the Philippines (RAP) National DemoFest held on June 12 to 13, 2026, at the Bapa Benny Tudtud Auditorium, Ateneo de Davao University, Davao City.

Carrying the theme “Teaching Across the Literacy Continuum: From Foundational Literacy to Multiliteracies,” the national gathering brought together educators, researchers, Department of Education personnel, and representatives from colleges and universities across the country. Through plenary sessions, teaching demonstrations, and specialized workshops, participants explored innovative approaches to literacy instruction that respond to the diverse learning needs of today’s students.

The conference featured respected experts in literacy and education, including Dina S. Ocampo, Marie Grace Reoperez, Marie Ayvette Alcazar, Mark Gleen Cidro, and Virgilind Palarca, whose presentations offered valuable insights into literacy development, multilingual education, and emerging pedagogical practices. Their discussions encouraged participants to view literacy as a continuum that extends beyond reading and writing toward critical thinking, digital literacy, multimodal communication, and meaningful learner engagement.

For Ms. Bucay, participation in the national event reflects her commitment to professional growth, instructional innovation, and educational excellence. The knowledge and best practices gained from the conference are expected to support the enhancement of literacy instruction, early childhood education, and learner-centered teaching initiatives within SNCFI.
