Santo Nino College Foundation, Inc. (SNCFI) takes pride in its very own Quality Assurance Officer, Ms. Juliet A. Castañas, LPT, MAEd, who has been invited by the Department of Education–SOCCSKSARGEN Region, through the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP)–Region XII, serving as one of the resource persons for the Training of Core Faculty for Literacy and Numeracy (Phase 1).

The training, themed “Envisioning Successes from Struggles by Addressing Numeracy Learning Gaps,” was held on October 7–9, 2025, at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, City of Koronadal. This regional initiative seeks to enhance educators’ competencies in literacy and numeracy instruction by addressing existing learning gaps and strengthening evidence-based teaching practices.

The program also underscores the Department of Education’s commitment to equipping teachers with effective tools and strategies for improving learner outcomes—an effort that strongly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, particularly Target 4.6, which aims to ensure that all learners achieve literacy and numeracy by 2030.

Moreover, the initiative reflects SDG 5: Gender Equality by recognizing and empowering women educators in leadership roles, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaborative efforts between educational institutions and government agencies to advance quality and equitable learning.

Ms. Castañas’ invitation as a resource person is a testament to her professional excellence, dedication, and leadership in the field of education. Her expertise and contributions will undoubtedly inspire and guide fellow educators in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and quality learning.
