Santo Nino College Foundation, Inc. (SNCFI) proudly marked its presence on the global academic stage as Dr. Jun Y. Badie, LPT, represented the institution at the 4th International Research Conference on Multidisciplinary Studies and the 8th Hasaan National Conference on Filipino, held from September 25โ€“27, 2025 at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), Manila.

Jointly organized by the University of Hawaii at Hilo and UST, the international gathering brought together distinguished scholars, educators, and researchers from across the world to share insights on multidisciplinary approaches, Filipino identity, and cultural studies. The event underscored the power of academic collaboration in shaping a deeper understanding of culture and education at both national and international levels.

As a paper presenter, Dr. Badie delivered his study titled โ€œKulturang F sa Filipinolohiyang Blaan,โ€ an insightful exploration of the cultural narratives of the Blaan people. His research highlighted the richness of indigenous heritage and its vital role in the field of Filipinolohiya, while also addressing the urgency of preserving indigenous knowledge systems. By focusing on the Blaan community, the paper emphasized the importance of weaving local traditions into education, research, and policy, ensuring that indigenous cultures remain visible, relevant, and celebrated in the broader national discourse.

This contribution resonates strongly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It reflects SDG 4 on Quality Education by promoting inclusive and culturally responsive learning, SDG 10 on Reduced Inequalities by giving space to marginalized voices in academic discourse, and SDG 11 on Sustainable Cities and Communities through the safeguarding of cultural heritage as part of building resilient and inclusive communities. It also aligns with SDG 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, as it advocates for representation and inclusivity in academic institutions and policy-making processes.

Dr. Badieโ€™s participation reflects SNCFIโ€™s steadfast commitment to advancing research that not only contributes to national identity formation but also resonates with global audiences. His work embodies the institutionโ€™s mission of cultivating scholarship that uplifts communities, strengthens cultural pride, and affirms the value of diversity in knowledge production.

For SNCFI, this milestone is more than an academic achievement; it is a testament to the institutionโ€™s dedication to nurturing scholarship rooted in Filipino identity and indigenous wisdom. The conference reaffirmed the importance of intercultural dialogue and collaboration, demonstrating how Filipino and indigenous studies contribute to a more inclusive, sustainable, and culturally grounded world.

Looking ahead, SNCFI aspires to continue producing research that ensures Filipino children and future generations see themselves represented in the narratives that shape education and scholarship.

Through this commitment, the institution reinforces its role as a catalyst for inclusive development and cultural empowerment on both national and global stages.
